Whatsapp has started Payments feature in India based on UPI against apps like PayTM, Google Tez etc. It makes easier to transfer money through whatsapp. In order to use Whatsapp Payments you need the updated version whatsapp, so update your whatsapp to the latest version available. For now Payments need to be activated by other whatsapp user by initiating a payment request who has payments already enabled, So, it is kind of an invite system.
Once Payments is activated for you, you can go into settings to find a new option named payments.
You can now proceed to set up payments on your whatsapp to transfer or accept money on whatsapp. Make sure you're connected to internet and it will prompt you to select your bank form the list of banks.
After selecting the bank, you will need to verify the OTP sent to you, So, your whatsapp number also need to be linked to the bank account for UPI to work. After verification of OTP, the bank will be added and you can proceed to setup you UPI PIN of 6 digits.
Now that everything is set, you can open any conversation and open the paper clip option to see a new payments option and send and recieve money on whatsapp.
You can also send money to any bank account using UPI from payments page either by entering the UPI ID directly or scanning the QR code of the UPI ID of the reciever.

I have a dual sim phone and I keep a sim for official calls and messages separate from my personal number. For having a proper work-life balance this is one way I follow and never share my personal number at my office. Now whatsapp has become an integral part of my daily life and since I wanted to protect my personal number, I was looking to run two whatsapp(s) on same phone to keep both conversations separate. I came across different solutions involving cloning of the app using "parallel space app" or something similar, but I preferred using GBWhatsapp method, firstly as it was a mod that added a little more features to it and I always install minimum apps.

Read the installation instructions carefully and download both the APKs. Both Whatsapp will be installed in different folders "whatsapp" and "gbwhatsapp" but its better to back up all your media(to your computer) and back up chats. Then uninstall the version you are using and install the apks downloaded earlier, you can restore chats while installing the apks. Enjoy the modded features on two separate whatsapps.
Cons: GBWhatsapp dual version is 6.30 and hasn't been updated, so it has become updated now, this is one of the drawbacks in this method as both GBWhatsapp and GBWhatsapp Dual needs to be updated and the support for dual version isn't updated frequently. One more thing I noted that although the GBWhatsapp version supports "Payments", unfortunately i coundn't get it to work until I used an official version of whatsapp.
Note: You don't need a rooted phone for running both whatsapp on a single phone.
Option #2:
We are again using the GBWhatsapp (latest version 6.40/2.18.122) and the Official Whatsapp Version(2.18.230) for this.
First download GBWhatsapp latest version and install. Now go to play store and download Whatsapp official version separately. Set up both whatsapp with different numbers and you can now use both versions independently.
Pros: Latest versions of GBWhatsapp and Whatsapp are working! I can activate payments and use the UPI based payments in India.

STEPS:
2. Update Google Play Services & Google Now : Make sure your Google App is updated to the latest version. If not, just go to Google Play Store and update the Google App. Update Google Play Services to the latest version(if you don't find the option to update google play services, just continue with the next step)
3. Install Get Assistant - root : Install this helper app which will automatically edit the "build.prop" and set it up for google assistant. Open the app and choose the "New Method" button and continue to click on "Get Assistant" in the end.
4. Clear App Data and Cache : Now you need to manually wipe Google's app data and its cache.
5. Reboot
6. Long Press Home Button : Just hold down the home button/fingerprint scanner and google assistant should pop up instantly.
